And just like that, its all done.
Good morning everyone! I am currently waiting to be picked up to head to the airport and decided to write a quick something here in the meantime. Yesterday marked 50% completion of my time here in St. Kitts! Semester 2 complete. We had our last exam yesterday and I am so happy Im done. This semester went by really fast but challenging. I think a break is very well deserved by everyone at this point..
Exams went pretty smoothly. They were all very fair and I think most people thought the same thing. All I can say is that Im happy this semester is behind me. Looking at the course layout I always knew that this semester would not be my best, but Im very happy with the way it turned out. (I still don't have grades yet, so lets hope Im not talking to soon). I don't have too much time here, but I just wanted to check in quickly before I left the island. From here I fly to St. Maarten, spend a few hours there and then catch a flight to Toronto. Ill make sure to give a more in depth review of semester 2, and some of the things I would have liked to know a few months ago. Ill also give you my thoughts about MED at this point for any of you who are interested!
Things learned recently
-Apparently one of the big reasons why the water shuts off every night (aside from the drought) is that the pipes in the city have too many leaks in them. They lose more water then is used throughout the night:P
-I didn't know that the ocean could be so smooth. Ill add a picture to this post for all of you to look at. I thought the ocean disappeared one morning.
-There is a dog that rips apart everyones garbage on the street..(I thought it was the monkeys). I say this because currently it looks like a tornado landed in my front yard.
-Having a second computer saved my but again.
-One night while walking to the store, there was another grocery store Ive never seen before! The whole time I've been on the island there was a big transport truck parked across the road. They moved the truck and all of a sudden a grocery store appeared! I think they were constructing it for the last few 8 months but I has no idea until they moved the truck. It is more similar to a grocery store back back home but not quite the sam selection. Its a lot closer to my house however, so Its handy if you need to grab something quick.
-The winter here in St. Kitts has been wonderful. Im not looking forward to the transition into summer..
-Another hurricane season approaches. They predict a few named storms to occur, but lets hope things stay fairly tame here in SK as they normally do.
-I don't have a tan to go home with:(
Thanks all for now! More to come soon.
Cheers,
Mike
